A 45-attorney law firm replaces break-fix IT with a managed service

Recurring outages and a failed client security questionnaire pushed a litigation firm to move from an hourly consultant to CloudSprint managed IT with a security program built in.

The challenge

The firm relied on a single consultant billed hourly. Response depended on his availability. Document management crashed regularly. Then a large corporate client sent a security questionnaire, and the firm could not answer most of it.

What CloudSprint did

Assess. A two-week assessment documented the environment and found unpatched servers, no MFA, shared administrator passwords, and backups that had not been tested in over a year.

Stabilize. In the first 30 days we deployed MFA and endpoint protection, standardized every workstation, fixed the document management server’s storage bottleneck, and verified a full restore.

Operate. The firm moved onto a flat monthly managed agreement covering 24/7 helpdesk, monitoring, patching, and backup. Attorneys got a direct line and a portal.

Prove. We wrote the firm’s information security policy, incident response plan, and acceptable use policy, then answered the client questionnaire with evidence.

The result

Ticket volume fell as the root causes were fixed. The corporate client approved the firm as a vendor. Quarterly reviews now drive a technology roadmap the partners actually budget for.

“We used to lose half a day every few weeks to something breaking. Now I honestly forget IT exists, which is the point.”
